Warranty & Battery Storage – What You Need to Know
Boost Fin is covered by a limited 1-year warranty from the date of purchase. This warranty applies to defects in materials and workmanship under normal and intended use.
What is covered
The warranty covers manufacturing defects, including internal electrical faults or component failures that occur despite proper use and maintenance. If your Boost Fin stops functioning due to a factory-related issue within the warranty period, it may qualify for repair or replacement.
What is not covered
The warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, accidents, physical damage, saltwater corrosion due to improper rinsing, unauthorized repairs, or improper storage. Because Boost Fin uses a lithium-ion battery, failure to maintain the battery during storage may also void warranty coverage.
Storage requirements (mandatory for warranty validity)
Li-ion batteries naturally lose charge over time, and if left uncharged for long periods, they can enter deep discharge, which may reduce performance and permanently damage the battery.
To maintain battery health and ensure warranty coverage remains valid, the following requirement must be observed:
- The Boost Fin must be charged at least once every 30 days
- The battery should be maintained at approximately 40-60% charge level during storage
- The product must be stored in accordance with the temperature and environmental conditions
Temperature: -4 ~ 113°F (-20 ~ 45°C)
Relative humidity: 30% to 70%
No dust or corrosive gas atmosphere
Following the recommended storage temperature and conditions in the user manual also helps prevent battery issues.Battery damage caused by failure to follow these storage requirements is not covered by warranty.
How to make a warranty claim
If you believe your Boost Fin has a warranty-related issue:
- First, connect it to the charger and leave it charging for 30–60 minutes.
- If the issue persists, contact our Support team with your proof of purchase and a description of the problem.
-
Our technicians may review diagnostic data to determine whether the issue is a manufacturing defect or related to use and storage conditions.
Following these simple storage and maintenance guidelines helps ensure long battery life and uninterrupted warranty coverage.
